This Shift E solenoid on the A140E is right behind the neutral safety switch. You see the linkage cable going to the NSS. The solenoid coil resistance measured by ECU is out of spec.

Does it come with P0770? When it doesn't activate the converter lock-up clutch one would expect 0770 to be set. So even if you disable it the MIL light will eventually come on.

So measure the resistance of the solenoid and compare to spec (see Haynes or factory manual), see how it works with battery voltage (or have an electrically inclined friend help out). If not call your local www.transtarindustries.com and get a quote on Shift E solenoid. You don't need to drop the pan to replace this one.

Don't have info on how the transmission control unit operates the solenoids or test for converter clutch lock up.

Maybe measure the electrical resistance of the old solenoid and put a suitable wattage resistor on there? Or connect up the old solenoid, just to see if it clears all MILs before putting a resistor on there?
