Tranny issue

Have a bit of an issue with my tranmission. Usually everything runs fine, but with the hotter weather, I have noticed if I'm a bit heavy on the gas, it seems like it heats up and then doesn't want to shift properly. [I think it's 2nd to 3rd] If I am to park the car, then leave it for a bit, all is fine again.

Any ideas? Wondering if the stock cooler isn't doing its' job well at all?

Have been keeping an eye on the fluid level, so far no problems. Was a wee bit down last oil change but so far that's fine. Colour looks good, as well, and have never had a burnt smell at all. I did adjust the kickdown cable in the spring, but not sure if that has any bearing on this as it's only being doing it since it's gotten really warm out.

Well, a little update. Had to do an oil change so we dropped the tranny pan at the same time. Not good. Seems the fluid was burnt and couldn't tell from checking the dipstik. Clutches seem to be burnt up so probably a matter of time until I have to change out the tranny. Now how long it's been this way? Who knows. Maybe longer than I've owned the car. Either way, filter in it was nice clean actually, so we drained everything, put in some lucas and new fluid. Didn't have any issue with it at all driving home at all, but have to take it easy with it so it'll last a bit. Can't deal with replacing it right now.

At least I know where I stand with this at least.

I know. So far it's ok, but have to be carefull with it. If I push it too hard, it won't last as long as it could if I am a bit easy on it. Found the axle shaft is leaking as well. probably part of the cause. Will have it replaced beginning of the week, and probably drain it again and put new fluid in. My mechanic says it won't last a year which I can hope I can get out of it Just have to see how it goes I guess.
