3rd Generation Suspension / Steering @ 145K

Nothing seems to have been changed on the car regarding the susp / steering. I bought the car at 88K in 2001 and I dont know what was done.

Anyhew, what do you think needs to be replaced?

how does it drive? im at 159k miles and everything is original with the suspension and steering.
check all of the boots and connections for play or leaking fluids. i know my struts are in need of replacing because one is leaking and the car has a hard time recovering from bumps/dips on the road. with 2 people in my back seat, the suspension literally bottoms out on minor bumps.

Seems to drive OK. I can say the struts need replacement since it doesnt take bumps very well. There isnt any grease in the ball joint thingy.

hmm

If you want to check things out for yourself you can do a quick inspection easily. Jack up the front of the car. Use blocks or jack stands to be safe. Grab the tire at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions push with one hand and pull with the other back and forth. If the tie rod ends are bad you will feel it as the tire clunks back and forth. Now if you have play you will have to see if it is a bad inner or outer tie-rod end causing the problem. Now grab the tire at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions with firm back and forth movement checking the ball joint for play. Also remember that any play in either direction could also mean that you have a bad wheel bearing. If you are at all unsure it is best to have the suspension inspected by a trusted shop.
