3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
my buddy just bought an audi a4 and it has the sick led light strip in the headlights. I want to get something similar to it. Something just like the led lights on the newer porsches. I would like to put them in the front bumper of my 99 camry. can anyone help me find a kit?
that does look pretty slick. $15 for a PAIR, too! that's cheap for hi-intensity LEDs.
i would try to put them at the bottom edge of the inside of my headlights on a gen4.5... on anything lower, like my 98, which has that weird diffraction pattern on the inside of the lens, you would need to have clear lenses on the front first, or it would probably look pretty weird. would be REALLY sick if you had a one-piece headlight/corner lamp assembly so you could seamlessly wrap those white lights around and up the corner of the car. seems like they'd also make for a nice license plate light, since a standard US license plate is 12" wide.
and depending on how thin they are, maybe mount them in the engine bay to light it up at night. possibilities are endless!

^^^ hey Gibson, even you ever decide to put em in your headlamps, lemme know!
if i ever convert from my current yellowing, ugly 1998 headlights to some nice clear 00-01 headlights and crystal clear corners (is there such a thing for gen4/4.5?), i'll think about it. till then tho..... *shrug* If i ever do convert the headlights, i'll buy a 9006 HID kit first. 4300k of course. no blue ricer crap for me!

how hard were they to install in the bottom part of the headlight? i want to do the same with my camry headlights as the maxima pic. How do you keep them in place and how hard is it to hook up to the day time running lights?

its completely different than the maxima, its a tight fit. i dont know yet about the camry and its not wired through the running day light. its hard wire from the battery to the switch. am planning to do on my cam... will see

Wiring it into a switch or DRL is easy, the hard part is getting the LEDs to look like it belongs in the headlights
To get an idea, take a look at a aftermarket headlight with LEDS inside and see how they line up. Then you can think of some way to fabricate it
