did i damage anything 95 vamry 4banger

today i removed my lower control arms to replace the bushings. the thing is the book says remove driveshaft nut remove driveshaft and tie ron from steering nuckle. i managed to remove lca without doing this.and after the lower control arms were out i decided to remove and replace my tierod ends outers only with pickle fork and a hammer.with the cv shart connected still.would hammering damage anything.everything seems to b hanging from strut. i remember hearing sone1 say never pull or push on driveshaft something about hurting tranny or something please help.

If you're removing the tie-rod end, it's better to use a puller rather than a fork and hammer since hammering might mess up the alignment. If you really have to use the fork and hammer, put the lower control arm on and bolted in to keep the knuckle from moving while you hammer and be extra careful that the knuckle isn't kicking in or moving around a lot while hammering. But using a puller will just eliminate any chance of damage caused by hammering/vibration, and I found that pullers are just better at removing ball/pivot joints than a fork.

Separating tie-rod end from steering knuckle:

A small tie-rod end puller (OEM27022) should work. See Autozone's free loaner tool program:

Removing the driveshaft from steering knuckle:
Use a puller, well more like a "pusher" in this application.

Flange axle FWD puller. OEM27037. You tighten the silver flange to the lug bolts with lug nuts. Then just turn the center black bolt to push out the driveshaft.

No hammering needed I agree.
