Trunk Release Wont work

When I pull it , it goes all the way but doesnt open the trunk. I opened the trunk and removed the cover. Cable is connected to the lock but it's loose. There is no adjustment on the trunk side. Shuold I remove the seat and try to fix it from inside?

How loose is it? disconnected loose, or stretched loose?
I think u can make it tighter at the release, like jus disconnect it and pull, put back and curt the excess or sumthin

Obvious question:

You didn't disable the latch by having the key position in the horizontal setting right? Trunk release enabled is vertical.

Ya, I love the obvious, they always bite you in ass. Some people say if it were a snake, it would have bitten you... I say if it were a woman, you could have skipped the steak dinner. Moral of the story, leave up to Fumes to mix up the proverbs or make them kinky.

You're welcome.

my trunk lock is in the horizontal position and i don't know what happened because i let a friend use my keys to open the trunk one day.

I could never get it in the horizontal "locked" position before since i bought the car and now that it is in that position, i cannot turn it at all and the release in the car will not work.

Does anyone have any ideas? and which way would i have to try to turn it to get it back to the normal position if i could?

stick the key in, turn it counter clock-wise. it HAS to be a master key, not a valet key.

doesn't work, my valet function never worked on my trunk before for some reason, is there a way to bypass this and open the trunk manually?

the only way to open the trunk is putting in a master key and turning it to the left, or pulling the release next to the drivers seat if the trunk is unlocked. now, you can get a new master key cut for less than $10 at the dealership. you just need to show you own the car... so bring a registration. that's prolly the best option for you,
