Gen5 Help with wheel selection for 01 Camry

Hi. I've been a Toyota owner ever since I got my drivers license. My first was a used 1976 Celica ST. I purcahsed it from my aunt when I was 16. LOL. My most recent purcahse... a 2001 Camry LE V6 from another relative. It has 42,000 original miles. It's a very clean car except for the rims. The paint and interior had been neglected some, but clay, cleaning and wax made this thing look like new. The metal flakes that weren't there before are now popping out. If you aren't careful the doors will slip out of your hand it's so slick now. Anyway on to why I came here.

I am having a tough time deciding which new wheels to get. The original wheels are in terrible shape and they leak air requiring air every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. I have tried Tirerack and some other sites that allow you to see the rims on the car, but they just don't do the trick. Is someome here able to photoshop some rims on to this car so I can get a better idea what to get? I would greatly appreciate it!

I was thinking of sticking with the stock size 15" wheels. I know some of you will say I should go up in size, but I am concerned the increased wheel weight going up in size would be a negative. The car is nice and peppy/zippy now and I don't want that aspect to go away with increased wheel weight. I don't want to "pimp" this car either. I want the basic nice clean look... new wheels for now. I also want to either have the grille redone as it has lost color or get an aftermarket grille that would fit without modification. Probably the only other thing I would do to it is get the windows tinted.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

i like these but i think they are 17s or 16s.

but if your goin with stock size then any of thoes 5 spoke wheels would look good and all about the same.

Nice car! Lunar Mist Metallic too, just like my gen 5.5 . I think going to 16" would be nice and honestly, the 1MZ is a strong motor and I doubt you'll feel much of a difference in power due to extra weight or whatever else.

I'm looking at staying with 15" too but that's because I just bought expensive new Michelins (LOVE them) which I don't want to waste. I'm thinking of going with OEM 15" rims if I can find them or waiting until I need new tires and purchasing 16-17" rims + tires at the same time.

Keep us updated and welcome to TN!
