4th Generation short ram intake?

I've been looking for a new intake system for my car because i hear it can increase your HP and give your engine a better sound. I have a 2000 toyota camry 4I and found a few SRI for good prices. But I have also heard that SRI can potentially decrease your power because it sucks in the hot air from your engine. So should i try and find a cold air intake? what are your thoughts?

currently, theres no cold air intake got the 4th gen; I4 or V6.

you would have to make it yourself, which has proved to be difficult for me and others

either are good. the intake is pretty much useless for power but sound AMAZING. building a CAI would build piece of mind but not much more. i think a SRI would be fine and much easier to find/build.

heres what it sounds like....

that does sound good! (the youtube vid). any other cheap engine investments? just want a little more horse power. I'm annoyed cause my dad's camry is gen 5 and he has alot more horse power than me with just a stock I4 engine.

only a full exhaust will yeild any noticable HP. and in my opinion, its not worth the money.

as far as the vid...because hes automatic he had to get up his speed in gear so the car doesnt down shift when he floors it. plus its a 5sfe in 3rd grear...thats about how fast it would accelerate anyways. he also has somethin wrong causing that flat spot durring the run.

weeeeeell...in many cases the 5sfe's lack of power causes drivers to dog it more often to get it to do what they want compared to the V6. put that together with the only 2mpg city and 4mpg highway differance...and the differance isnt that much(4cly is still a little better, yes).

kind of a dick move but just thought id twist the knife
