Ksport spring preload

So after installing my CO's and driving around for a bit. At low speeds in parking lots and while turning at low speeds, I am getting a lot of spring popping and pinging. How exactly do you adjust the spring preload and what is the best setting for it?

I usually put mine half way between, only because I do like the response, but jesus, if you leave it all the way to "stiff", you'll feel a damn penny if you drive over it

if the Ksports are anything like the BC Racing coilovers, you'll have two lock rings under the spring. loosen the bottom one to unlock the rings... then bring the top one up to increase the preload. once that is done, bring the bottom ring flush with the top ring to lock it. you do not want to increase the preload by too much... because you'll be changing the spring rates at that point. BC Racing recommends a maximum of 5mm of preload on my coilovers, Ksports are probably similar.

Knailgun, you are thinking of the damper adjustment. fronts are half, rear are full, for me. I don't mind the "harsher" ride.

LE, thats exactly what I thought, just wanted to make sure. I don't know where they are at right now, all I know is that the pinging has to do with the spring preload, and it just isn't right.

dont ever preload your springs, unless you want to blow your struts in a few weeks

make sure the perches lock on the springs tight, that's about it

just tighten them up a small amount from how they were set ... they are functionally at 0 preload, so they come loose once in a while, keep them tight and you should be ok
