3rd Generation Tires for 17's Question.

Hey guys. I've decided to keep my American Racing Penzetti 17 inch wheels. I painted them saturday, and they look AMAZING. So now I need to look into tires. I'm nor sure of the offset of the AR wheels, but I can post pics of when I had them test fitted on the car. But anyways...

What size tires should I be looking into for running 17" wheels on my 96 LE 5s-fe? Tire rack suggests 205/50-17, 215/45-17, and 225/45-17. I'm not sure which size to get. ALSO, as of sunday, I'M LOWERED!!! on H&R's and Tokicos. Lemme know what size tire i should look into.

ALSO: car and driver tested some summer tires in the 225/45-17 size. worth a look.

well it some what depends on their width. how wide are they?

215 is a good median size, 205 is too small and 225 my have a slight positive stretch...but the 225 is what id go with if its a 7" wide wheel. thats what i have on mine and they are great. 225/45 17

I'm been pleased running 215/50..less fender gap, and smoother ride!

The TRD's are 18x7.5 45 offset with 225/45...the Spiders 17x7.5 running the 215/50!

The TRD's are in storage! (Downtown Richmond streets are rough as hell!!)..anyways..17x8?? have you fit a rim on the rear yet to check clearance? With an 8" rim I'd buy 225/45.

oh mannnn, i know about downtown richmond's streets...

i'll check and see if I have any clearance problems later this morning. They fit fine when i did a test fit...but that was only on the front.

225/45's for 17x8's then guys?

The front should fit, but you may need spacers on the rear. Their available on ebay for cheap!
