Gen 3 Center Tail Light Options

I really hate to make this thread because I feel like I've run across this before but I cannot seem to find it for the life of me, so here goes.

Basically, I'm looking for options to replace or change the look of my gen 3 camry tail light center piece. This is pretty much exactly what my car looks like, color and all.


Just trying to be as specific as possible. I'm talking about that center piece that has "Camry" written across it. I can't stand it. Is there anything I can do to make it look more like this? I don't like the one big ass tail light across the back.



I think that looks much cleaner, especially if I get around to shaving the emblems on the bottom center. Thanks for any advice.

you can jsut replace it with the gen3.5 one(the one in the seccond pic). but your tail lights wont line up wiht it perfect, so ya may have to replace the tails as well. the other option would be to get an SE or DX pannel wich is the same thing but all black. other then that youll have to paint, in which case you can do anything ya want with it.

Can I replace the trunk and tails with gen 3.5 and have everything fit? The tail lights look pretty similar around the bottom but obviously I dunno for sure or I wouldn't be asking.

Everything will fit fine, it's just that the line of the lights going around the back wont be lined up perfectly; its not all that noticeable though.

I just changed mine over from 3rd gen to the 3.5 gen look of that white Camry. I have a problem with the bulbs tho. Either I have a light on in the dash or a loose bulb in the trunk. Either way its annoying. Anyone else have this problem?

Basically if you change a Gen 3 centrepiece with a Gen 3.5 centrepiece, then you'll have what looks like the centrepiece sitting outwards. The centrepiece comes out around an inch or so. I saw this done on a 96 Gen 3.5 and he imported the Red/Clear/Red tail lights suited for the Gen 3, but had that exact same problem. He ended up buying a Gen 3 centrepiece to make it sit flush.

I've never seen a set of tail lights like the ones you want... except the American cars. Adam has this setup I believe (ASG14).

You can remove the letters from gen 3.5 panel and have this look



Or find an SE panel, and color match it.

Im all good with fitment and whatnot. Gen 3.5 stuff looks great. Its these pesky extra bulds in the trunk and the orange light in the dash.
