3rd Generation Need opinions:

Alright, so here's what my wheels look like now:
http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/318/tiresi.jpg

And here's what my car would kinda look like after I buy a new pair of $25 hub caps:
http://images.craigslist.org/3kb3o93...a2cb0712de.jpg

Should I spend the $25 I have finally saved up on that aesthetic upgrade, or should I buy black floor mats? :P

I currently have gray floor mats, and my interior is blue. Opinions on those new hubcaps/everything else?

Sorry I'm poor. T_T

i have a dull gray set of mats in my car which has the oak interior and have been wanting to change them to black as well but been putting it off cuz i know that its better to use them for all they are worth before investing in a new set prematurely just so they look better.. heck they are supposed to be stepped on and abused, might as well right.

although i did just buy a set of wheels and tires last week cuz i found a good deal on craigslist and couldn't be happier with them. imo its a nice aesthetic touch to have a nice set of rims on your car. it doesn't look like your hubs are stock oem but i could be wrong... which in that case id like to tell you that stock hubs have a much stronger mounting ring than aftermarket ones.

oh and try bargaining a little for the hubs if do go through with it. maybe 20?

$16 at Wal Mart. Lol.
The pictures from Craigslist are just for representation.
I'm not sure if what I have is OEM or not. I know my neighbors Geo has the same wheel covers as me though.
Would the $16 covers be more likley to like fall off or something? Should I just go with the floor mats?

Absolutely pointless. Any kind of hubcap you buy is still a hubcap, and it'll still look ugly.

In my opinion, if you don't have a lot of money to get quality stuff for your car, just put whatever you need to put into it so that it get's you from place to place.

That's not bad advice, but to be honest, there's no other mechanical issues that I have to deal with. I just recently put 2k down on it to fix up everything, so now everything I have to spend now can help make it look a little better. My aunts Gen 4.5 Camry came with some pretty nice looking hubs, I think hers is 17 inches, or 16. It's actually pretty sharp on her car, so I have to disagree with the ugly hubcaps.
Though, I would love to get real rims. xD

It's your car. If you want to get some better looking hub caps, go for it.

When I got my V6 XLE, my son inherited my I4 LE. He didn't like the hub caps that were on it, so he got some at Wal Mart. It was all he could afford at the time. IMO they were a nice change, and he really liked them. He ran with those until I bought new wheels for my car. Then he took my factory alloys.

The Wal Mart hubs cost him $14. Pretty inexpensive for a decent visual improvement, and that much wouldn't even put a dent in saving for anything else on the car. That's one stop at McDonalds these days.

The Wal Mart hubs aren't as good quality as the factory ones, but what do you want for $14. At that price, if you curb one you can pick up another set and have backups. OEM hubs are substantially more expensive, even used, and your selection is pretty limited with OEM.

wow Jcam, how may people per night do you blind with those?

I am going to have to say save the money dude. I learned the hard way that money is not infinite and once you spend it, it's just gone. You might as well save it for another car in the future or something. That car won't last forever. I really can't believe you spent that much already repairing that poor thing. But to each his own.

I wasn't going to. I actually had another car in mind when we found out how much work needed to be done.
But then my dad decided that I should keep the car, since It's a Toyota. I can't seem to get rid of it. xP

wow, kartmen you're really new so I'll give ya a break... NAH

If you look at oh I don't know the GROUND, the light output is pretty clearly shining on oh I don't know, the GROUND. Which may lead one to believe that the lights oh I don't know! DO NOT BLIND PEOPLE! (Unless someone is lying on the ground)

And one more thing, they're powerful, but they have less output power than my low beams, which means even if they were pointed directly at your eyes it wouldn't even be too bad.

BACK TO THE OP and on topic. I say "rims or nothing" for several reasons. When I was rockin' my black steelies hey they looked aiiight. I cleaned em' sanded em' and even painted em' a nice coat of black once in awhile. Taking care of your tires will also complete this look.
The next step was purchasing black hubcaps from fleabay. They looked DOPE (or so I thought) for about 2 days, at which point one flew off and rolled next to me on the highway. That was the end of those.
The final obsession with hubcappers was finding some at Big Lots. They were chrome and 5 spoked. Hooked into the wheels really nicely, and even stretched an extra inch over the sidewall to give the illusion of bigger rims. Sick right? Meh!
After I had these on, painted em all sorts of different colors, I finally did some research on real rims. After just a few short nights of doing this I realized fatter tires on even halfway decent rims will give an entirely new look to my car. So I went to the junker, and got some damn rims

My point is I almost feel stupid now in retrospect for wasting my time and money on getting different hubcaps, when I could've just saved up for rims and changed the car for the better a lot sooner
