4th Generation Rear Seat Belt - 98 Camry LE

Hello everybody,

Rear Seat Belt (right side) of my 1998 Camry have stopped working. It is not not retracting at all.
Is there a way to fix it, or I need to replace it?
Could somebody help with some steps on how to replace it?
Appreciate your help. Thanks.

Mike

You need to replace it most likely. Its a pretty straight forward job. You need to remove the 3rd brake light, then remove the shelf, and unbolt the seatbelt. Theres a guide on here somewhere the explains how to remove the whole rear interior.

It can get a little frustrating, but overall its not that bad of a job. I replaced mine with one from a part out car.

This may help. It is for a Gen 5, but the deck removal is similar

Only this is you don't have to remove the pieces of trim around the seat opening. It is in step 4.

There are white clips you access from the trunk. I may still have my crutchfield mastersheet that details the exact steps for the Gen4, but it's pretty similar to these.
