4th Generation Dash Kit Opinion

Hey all. So I plan to by a dash kit to put into my 98 Camry LE and I was wondering what I should get.

They offer four types:

Dark Burl, Light Burl, Silver, and Carbon Fiber.

My Camry is beige and the interior is tan so the obvious choice would be the dark burl, but my car's modded so I don't know if the classy look would match.

I asked the seller online and he said to go with the dark burl, but 'If you're going for the sporty look go with the carbon fiber.'

I still don't know which one to get.

I don't really like any of them but hey it is your car. I always associate the Carbon fiber with tuner/ricers. What kind of mods do you have. You going for the tuner look?

I figured someone might say that. It's cause my interior's too simple and I don't know what to do with it. Any suggestions? All I have are driver and passenger seat covers.

And I guess you can say that. But I'm going for the ricer look. I wanna be at the point where it'd look like a nice tuner without crossing the line to ricer.

But I'm not sure if the carbon fiber kit would match with the interior. It's been bugging me for the past few days and I'm thinking whether I wanna spend the $70 on it or put it to something else.

well dont get light burl which i think is too light for your tan interior and the silver only looks good in cars with black interiors... between cf and dark burl... i would have to go dark burl!

reason being is that the carbon fiber trim would probably look really tacky and ricer against a tan interior of a Camry which is more of a mature passenger car than a small coupe or hatchback. also i am sure that the dark burl, depending on which areas you decide to treat with pieces off the dask kit, would actually fool most people into thinking that it is oem.

good way to decide between the two because after all, it is your car, if you are adding a bodykit or wing or have colored wiring/piping in your engine bay go with the carbon fiber

thanks man. i get what you're saying with the carbon fiber. i would love to get the dark burl if i didn't mod the outside to look like a tuner. right now i ordered a custom spoiler, which looks like a factory made one but goes a little higher with a brake light, changed the rims to black 17" with a 1-2" lip, tinted the windows, painted the brakes red and soon plan to drop the body (meaning no kit; there's a gap between the arch and the wheels i wanna get rid of and i had custom fog lights installed into the stock bumper so again no kit), so i guess the cf kit would look decent?

and, it wouldn't really look like a ricer would it?

"Sunpro tri-gauge pod from Sudbury Custom Auto"

^^that looks nice too. is it worth it?^^

but thanks. people here are suggesting the cf kit and i think i'm gonna get that. and like i said, i just wanna improve the look of my camry's interior so it won't be plain. any ideas?

but your gauges look fresh and i think i wanna get those. easy to install?

I was looking at this for my car a few weeks ago. I found this kit just for my year and it looked pretty good. I have the grey interior so I think it would look better then your tan unless you went with a wood one. I personally dont like those but it may look nice with the tan. Well check out this seller, they got more colors to choose from. Good luck

Can't really do much about the tan interior. If I had the grey one I'd know what I want already. And the wood looks decent but I'm trying to go for a tuner look.

BTW, I can't believe I overlooked that kit in the link you posted. That cheap?? But the colors look really bold. I'll look into this though. Thanks man. And I will.
