window visor pics? opinions

trying to decide between a cheap set on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...%3A1|72%3A1171

or some in channel ones from weathertech:
http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvp...OptChoiceIds=9

any opinions? the weathertech ones only come in "lightly" tinted while the ebay set comes in a dark color which idk is even see through or not. i am worried that the in channel ones will effect the window mechanism and/or damage the weatherstripping. also that they might fall off.

does anybody have any close up or near pictures of their cars showing their visors?

I put the Weathertech ones on my mom's 01 Camry and I think they're the way to go. I've never been a fan of using adhesives on the paint of any car.

These fit very tightly in the channel and don't damage anything. The only thing worth mentioning is when the window goes up that last 1/2" you can tell it's a bit tight. With that said - no one is going to be able to rip them off w/o damaging them. Also - if you feel like taking them off for whatever reason - it can be done cleanly. Want them back on - no problem. Try that with the stick-on ones. No offense to anyone who uses them, but I think the stick-on ones cheapens the look of your car.

My mom has had them on for at least 4 years now and they have been exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat with no effects. They still look as good as new.

I'm a believer in spending a little more money up front (one time!) on a quality product.

It also helps that the company is local to me so I went and picked them up.

EDIT - just noticed you're in Niles, IL. Weathertech is right in Downers Grove - don't pay shipping AND tax on 'em! Swing by and pick them up

I use the in channel ones in my CE, and take them off in the winter. No need to vent the car in this weather.

You want a 4-piece in channel, you got a 4-piece in channel...

I dont think that is in channel. And I have a set just like mine for sale. What on earth would I do with a third pair? I couldnt find any in channel for a 93 about six months ago when I searched. All my info is from then. If they had been produced, they would be on my car.

Click on the install tab, and check out the pdf file. It specifies to clean the window channel, and shows an arrow pointing to the mounting surface...inside of the channel.

I hated that I had to get stick ons. I want to take mine off now. I think the 93 and 96 might be slightly different. There are a few differances between the 3rd gen and the 3.5s. There is a rubber piece that looks like it would get in the way on my 93. Well it says they would fit. Damn wish Id found them earlier.
I hate that they never have a picture of a pair on the actual car. That's total BS.

^ i went to the above website and called them up (877-787-8989) and talked to a representative and asked him to look up the specific item (part #94913) for which the link directs you for and asked him whether or not they were in fact in channel visors or not. he said they were not and in channel visors would normally start with a part number of 1; meaning if they were in fact in channel the part number should be 194913. the instruction pdf i guess is useless. i didn't care to bother him more and make a fuss about why the manual made it seem as if they were.

go figure.

Thats what I thought. Believe me I didnt want to stick Anything to the car If I didnt have to. I looked forever but couldnt find any in channel. The design of the door dosnt allow for in channel. I still have a set just like mine for sale brand new, dark tint, $35 shipped to you. I think they look great compared to some of the others such as weather tech. They are all smooth. They dont look like they stick out as much as the Weather techs either, that was what I was worried about. These are the best two pics I have Im going to take more now.
