What's the name of this hose

What is the name of the big hose (circled in red in the pic below) which goes between the throttle body and air filter? Today, I noticed that hose was completely cracked around the throttle body connector and just resting against it. Would that be the cause of my low idle, especially in warm weather? Thanks to the original member who posted the picture in the past.

It is referred to as an air intake duct. As for your idle problems, I am not sure. I know when I had cold start problems, people here told me to check the duct for cracks.

I would say to replace it and see how the car runs. Problems sometimes get resolved by the process of elimination. Either way, it's not good to have since it sounds like it may be letting dirt in.

When you have it off, I would get some Seafoam Deep Creep and spray, brush, and wipe the inside area of your throttle. I'm sure it's dirty (gets that way even with a duct that isn't cracked.

Spray the Sea Foam into the throttle body, let it sit for a couple of minutes and then take a tooth brush and give it a good scrub. Take the butterfly and prop it up in the open position, be sure to clean both sides of the butterfly.

If you do a search of Deep Creep, on the forum, you are sure to find more details and maybe some pics.

This is an excellent opportunity to clean your throttle body since you gotta remove/replace the hose anyway.

Before you buy a new one, make sure you get the right hose. Federal emissions and California emissions camry models are different. The California emissions (11'th character of the vin is a "u") has a connector near the top of the hose that the Federal emissions camrys do not. Ask me how I know.

I purchased the wrong hose and had to get another. I still have the Federal one cause I found out too late to return it. You'll see the difference on some of the Ebay models. If you have a Federal emissions camry (mine is California) I can sell it to you cheap. Its still brand new. lmk
