Sometimes the rearview mirror digital compass displays the incorrect direction.

Example. Yesterday, no matter which direction the car was going, it displayed only SE or SW. This seems to happen at random. Turning it off and back on does not reset it. A few days ago when it started to display the improper direction, it reset itself while driving through a tunnel. Yesterday, it reset itself while leaving a parking garage.

The question is, what needs to be replaced to fix the problem? And where is the compass actually located in the vehicle?

My car info is in the signature.

compass is located in the mirror itself. sounds like it may need to be recalibrated. if the mirror is an oem option, look in your owner's manual on how to recalibrate.
