a question

ok heres the deal, in march i had my engine replaced...long story short my bro started my car yesterday and noticed that the check engine light didnt come on...not on but when u turn you key to on..and see all those lights on the dash board...

for example when u turn the keys to "on" you will see on the dashboard the seatbelt thingy, the oil thingy, and on the left side you see like the check engine light and some other thing

well he said that its suppose to come on for that breif moment until you actually start the car, and if it didnt come on than that means that the people that did the engine swap either took out to bulb or duck tape it...to hide that the check engine light was actually on...so i wouldnt say anything..

but since my bro is bringing it up..we're going to take out the dash board and check...

my question is can i do anything if i find out that they tampered with the check engine light????

its a 93 xle camry v6 3vzfe engine

take pics of every thing as you do it. if its somthing that you take to court youll need evidence. i havnt herd of many shops pullin that because it can almost always be tied to a prefessional. because the owner certainly wouldnt do it.
