Hydraulic Fan Motor Leak

I had (maybe still have) a leak in or around the hydraulic fan motor. I replaced the seal that goes over the top and bottom of the fitting noted in the photo (thanks to another member that posted the photo a couple of years ago).

When installing the new seal, fluid poured out and made a good mess on the fan and on the motor, so now I am not sure if I resolved the leak. I am still getting fluid on the floor and the engine compartment, despite my attempt to clean up as much as possible. I checked the hose to the left of the fitting and there appears to be no leak.

I refilled the p/s reservoir after working on it, but checking today it is low again. It may be just a case of the line replenishing after the repair yesterday. Has anyone experienced leaks with this motor? Is is a repairable thing or is a replacement required.

BTW, the motor is on gen 3 6 cyl just in case anyone is wondering why they don't have one on their car.

A little more info on what I've done.

after replacing the seal:

I cleaned everything for a second time. Appears to be no leak from the incoming connection or the outgoing.

I wiped down the connections, the hydraulic motor, the motor supports, the tube/hose for both incoming and outgoing.

I wiped down the fan, the outer hub and the blades.

I started the car, ran it for about 5 minutes and all wiped down areas were dry except the fan. The outer diameter of the hub had fluid and the centrifugal force caused the fluid to spread outward on the blades (the side facing the motor).

I wiped it down again and same results. I don't see anything dripping, no other areas appear to be wet. The inner dia of the fan hub is dry, only the O.D. has fluid on it. It's a small ring on the edge of the engine side of the hub that goes completely around the hub.

I had the same leaking issue when I replaced that hose, drove quite the distance home the whole time power steering fluid was leaking out and burning on the manifold cover, leaving a HUGE trail of smoke behind me, I ended up using two gaskets on top and one on the bottom, it still leaks a bit and I have to keep an eye on the fluid level every few days.

Well, the thing was still leaking (even worse) today. I got home from work and took the old seal and put them on the top and bottom along with the new one, it appears that the problem is resolved.

Before I added the old seals, I checked the new seal for nicks and there was nothing, same with the eye connection and the seat for the motor. I don't know why it was leaking, but hopefully this will take care of the issue.

I tried to clean up as best I could, but I will have to wait until the weekend to do a good cleaning.

Thanks for the suggestion.
