4th Generation 99 Camry Speaker Question

So I was driving my camry and I bought a coaxial 6.5 speaker since I didnt want to install tweeters but I noticed that I had a small speaker grill next to the rear view mirror, but it wasnt round like most tweeters ive seen. If that is a tweeter, than I may switch to a component 6.5. Anyone know?

I drive a 99 camry LE

If it is in the sail panel, and has a grill in there, then you probably have the factory tweeters. All you have to do is pull the sail panel off as it merely snaps into place to see.

I will post a picture when I get home

Does the part on the front of the door connected on the opposite side of the rearviwe mirror (in front of the windows) count as a "sail panel?"

Yes that triangle piece on the door on the opposite side of your mirror is the sail panel.

if theres a lil grill looking thing on he inside of your side view mirrors, then YES its factory tweeters. I have them as well, n if i was in your shoes, definitely get the components instead. I guarentee you'll be much happier with them , then again im a HUGE audiophile so i may be very biased lol .The reason the plastic piece arent round, is cuz the piece must contour the door panel to look factory, something you gotta love. LIke stated above, it does jus snap off/on.

4th Generation Add Sail Panel OEM Tweeter Housing & Grill?

Can sail panel OEM tweeter housings & grills be added to a 98 LE that did not originally have tweeters? If yes, what's the going price from a salvage yard?

Which aftermarket tweeters will fit in the stock tweeter housings and provide a significant sound quality improvement over the stock tweeters?

Thanks
