EEngineer Retrofit Thread

Things been going slow because i just got a job doing a shit load of typesetting and editing work from my mom who's a prof.

but none the less I've cracked open my beloved depos. cut the crap out of them to make my E55 Hella projectors fit and I already fasted one of them projectors on it.

But oh boy this project is going to test my patience big time because i really want things to work out really perfect.

Still have to wrap the projectors so no light leaks out. Make a shroud out of my $1.25 doggie bowls behind the bezels to cover the rest of the projector body. Aim them and seal up everything. wire up my solenoid + angel eyes LEDs

But so far so good. So let the teaser continue and i'll show you guys what i've been working with.

my messy basement

my mastercraft dremel set

projectors kindly lent to my from cyarrko to mess around with.

and here's what i got so far

there's still shit loads of work left, so i'll update here once i get to do more.

Question

which projectors would you recommend to use in order to do a retro fit? i was at the junkyard today [5th] and i saw a headlight with projectors all by its lonesome. it said Toyota on the projector headlight but the car it was on (not in place) wasn't a Toyota, so I couldnt figure out where it came from.

don't go with junkyard projectors. at least not your low beams.

only 3 i recommends are RX330, E55 or TSX
RX330 is easiest to work with, E55 is the nicest looking and TSX is the best quality i think but either one will turn night into day if done properly.

for highbeams...if u want, just throw any projector in there but make sure to cut off the cutoff no puns intended

s2k, rx330, sc430, fx-r, and tl are pretty much the top of the line projectors out there. i'd go with rx330 as they are the best bang for your buck or fx-r if u want more even light spread. nice choice though with the e55s as they are really nice. i'm just biased at the width and cutoff of those 5.

I'd love to show you but i'm faaar from that stage yet.
I'll need to finish the actual work on the projectors before i can get to the LEDs

but here's a small update none the less.
the projectors are now sealed and locked tight in place. I'll have to aim them next time.
