HVAC Controls Removal Problem

So I went a bit too far and pulled all the connectors from my HVAC.

3 "dumb" questions:
1. Where does the defroster button connect to...I swear I disconnected but can find it to reconnect...anybody have a picture

2. I see a lot of people be able to take out the faceplate to replace the 2 bulbs which I was basically trying to do in the forums. How do you take the lever out? I take the knobs...the screws but the lever prevents me from pulling it all the way out so I can get clear access to the bulbs.

3. Can I convert my 97-99 HVAC to the 00-01 HVAC which has the 3 knobs/3buttons versus the older 3knobs,2 buttons, and lever.
