Gen 3 - Type of Oil?

I've got an oil leak on my Gen3 and I'm just going to add in oil for now. Problem is, I just bought this car and I don't know what type of oil was used. It was serviced at Penzoil according to the sticker on the windshield.

Any ideas?

You can probably go to Pennzoil and have them pull the record from their computer. Or I'd just top off with 10W-30 dino.

If your wallet isn't hurting it's not synthetics. I don't doubt in some shops even if you pay synthetics you might get dino, unfortunately.

Doesn't make a difference. Topoff with any oil.
If its leaking, go thicker or use a high mileage oil.

Orrrr.... find out why it's leaking too mate... might be a good idea

Other than that, normal oil would be fine... get it changed out soon enough though with the right stuff.

The generation 3 4 cylinder 5SFE engines used 10W-30. It should say so on the top of the oil cap, if the cap is the original one.

It's leaking because my Timing Belt hasn't been serviced in 148,500 miles and every single seal is most likely cracked and deteriorated.

P.S. I'm not that big of an idiot to not service it. I just bought the car.

I know you didn't, but I knew that's what everyone would think.

"That idiot didn't service his Timing for 150k miles? Haha, he deserves the oil leak!"
