Do it yourself. It's really easy. Just make sure you don't short out any fuses.
If you want to do it yourself, buy the adapter that connects to the vehicle wiring harness. Takes all the guess-work out of wiring it. All you have to do is match the colors, twist together and use electrical tape or wire nuts and your good. Make sure you test it before you put the dash back together.

Get a wiring harness for Toyota, about 20 butt connectors for 18AWG (typically red), and a set of crimpers. Do not pay more than about $10 for the harness.
The Toyota harness will attach to the JVC harness. Use the butt connectors and crimpers to connect the wire; alternatively, you can solder and heatshrink if you prefer.
It will probably take you about 30 to 60 minutes to do the install.
Install Dr has a guide for stereo installation for your car.
You don't even need the harness if you don't want to waste your money. There's usually a guide on the internet somewhere that matches the in-dash colors (Stock Toyota cabling) to the aftermarket stereo colors. I did this in my brother's Nissan Sentra. Just strip the cables, twist them together, and cover them with electrical tape. It's super easy.

Well, the advantage of using the harness is that you don't have to cut the connector on your factory harness. That makes it easy to re-install the stock stereo if you ever want to, like if you sell the car. Also makes it easier to install a different stereo down the road if you ever change. And, you don't have to do the wiring in the confines of the car. You can do all the wiring sitting at a table. Then just carry it out to the car and plug it in. Well worth a few bucks IMO.

Yeah, there's definitely advantages to it. But hey, I'm a cheap arse. :p
