How do I disable my car alarm?

I'm sure this is a simple question, but I know little about cars. I have a '98 Camry XLE with about 173k miles on it. Love that thing.

Every morning I come out and use the door remote to unlock the doors, reach for the handle, open the door, and wake my neighbors with a few blasts of the horn (car alarm) before I can press the unlock button again to turn it off. It happens most mornings, but at no other time during the day.

How can I disable the alarm without affecting the horn itself?

The box should be under the driver seat, find the model number of your alarm. Search for a online instruction manual.
