What is the best temp for engine?

Hello,

I am thinking to change the thermostat for my 97 camry 4 cylinder.

I have few questions.

does aftermaker good? if so which one do you recommend?

what is the right temp for the engine? right now I have it about 85C on it when hot it up.

Thanks,

Derick

85 t0 90 is about right. Don't go lower, or your fuel econy will suffer. Why do you want to change it? Standard aftermarket units will be fine.

Thank you Lenjack,

The water meter inside the car looks like little bit higher than before. (my motor has been replace), it was little bit lower than right now.

if the engine temp is about right, I will keep it like that.

Thank you again.

Derick
