Canada 93 Camry Turning Sounds

Hello everyone,

I am a new owner of a 93 Camry LE and I need some help. The car seems to be making squeaking/squawking sounds when I turn right without stopping first to turn. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions. Thanks.

If it is a clicking sound, check your axel boot. I had a tear in mine and when all the grease was gone, it made a audible clicking side when I turned right (it was on the passenger side of the axel)

It doesn't exactly sound like a clicking sound more like a squeaky rubbing sound so not sure, but I will definitely check out the axle.

Check the tightness of the accesories belt, get a helper and have them turn the wheel back and forth while you look at the belt there should be no belt sloppyness..Dave

does it kinda sound like a cat inside the car? if so the boot inside the car where the steering shaft passes through the floor is dry and needs some lithium spray lube in it we used to have to do them at the dealership quite often.

It's the accessory belt. The squealing happens when the belt is sitting too loose.

i get a squeal while turning as well as just driving normally. sounds like school bus brakes, but not as loud.
i know i have a leak in my power steering system (or had... lucas stop leak has done the job). when i start the car cold, it makes some kind of air tension release noise, and the belt makes a sound when cold as well. i noticed i also have a torn front driver side boot. it looks like the tear is fairly new. ahh the nonsense never seems to cease.

umm it could be the belt like everyone is saying..but if your sure its more so coming from the wheel areas..could be that your brakes are grinded down to that little pin that warns you of bad brakes
