wanting to paint my camry black... suggestions?

so here my camry http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3185733 and i want to paint it black. i know what needs to be done sanding, dent pulling, filling, then more sanding. but i was wondering if everyone can give me tips on types of paints or anything for body work and prepping purposes.

the local parts dealer told me they had a 1 stage paint with a clear coatmixed in, then they said they had 2 stage paints as well

I just want to get a plethera of info from everyone cus everyone has a different tip or suggestion that helps in my conquest to have a beautiful looking and running camry.

this is a new direction for me because i've dealt with my need for speed, figure a supra or skyline in the years to come will do me good but for now i plan on have this camry as my good looking daily driver for the next 50 years....and yes i do expect it to last that long when im done working on it.

so please everyone give me you painting tips your body working tip or any suggestions relating to this. knowing what paint is good also would help.

i personally wouldn't do it myself unless you have a good air compressor holding 25 gallons, and pneumatic air tools and paint sprayer. I wouldn't paint the car with the clear coat/paint stuff it wouldn't look good. when you shoot your primer down, if you want it to "pop" ( the black ) use white primer. wet sand your primer before you shoot your paint job. and don't spray one area too long or you'll have runs. at least three coats of clear IMO. hope this helps

If you have never painted a car before, i STRONGLY do NOT recommend painting it BLACK. Black is the hardest color to spray n prep for since you will be able to see every defect in the body and paint. If you gonna attempt to, please TAKE YOUR TIME, do it right the frist time, n be ready to color sand a bunch to remove the orange peel in the paint. don't rush the prep work homie, good luck

Yeah, I would probably have a shop paint it since it probably would not turn out as well if doing it yourself unless you are confident.

and just wanted to say I love your gauges. They are nice, clean and easy to read.

hey thanks ya well my girlfriends dad is gunna do the spraying he did his parents car n looks decent plus him and his neighbour both have garages and the neighbour has a lift in his garage. but they painted a few cars so i trust him all i do is pay for paint. so i dont expect miracles through the paint job but i'll make sure to fallow sum of those tips for sure.

and ya the gauges are actually done to i put the LEDs in the last two pillar ones and it looks alot better, they came with incandecent bulbs with a blu silicone cover but incadecent shines yellow and a blue cover makes it shine green. but ya im glad how it truned out but i have to leave the inside till last all fiberglass dash and pilars and removal of back seats for speaker pillars and amp rack eventually.

but ya thank guys for the tip i know im eager but i have to be patient with the preping. i think it'll be important to go as long as i can on each dent or fill. i would like to get fiberglass fenders so i dont have to worry about rust ever again. but thanks for the ideas keep it comming.
