a/c guage and window fuse blowing?

It blew and I put a altonator on it before I knew it was the fuse. the fuse was a 10. and when I put a 10 in it it last for a few sec and blows. then I put a 15 in and it lasted a few hours and blew. then a 25 and it was fine? But something aint rite? has anyone had this prob?

You should never install a higher amperage fuse in place of the original.

Well, unless you have given up on finding the problem the safe way and plan on finding it by tracking down the source of the fire.

A short circuit drawing 20 amps at 12 volts will generate a lot of heat. It won't take long to find the problem.

Ok thanks it's at my buddys shop now. Just trying to get the word out to see if this is an occuring problem on this make and model? to make a quick repair.

Does the 10 amp fuse only blow when you move the shifter into reverse? If so here's what to do.
I just went through this. It was hard to spot the frayed wires for the back up lights in the trunk bundle. Had to remove the padding on the left side of the trunk since the problem was right where the bundle disappears into car body. Had to climb into trunk with flashlight to tape them up. No more blown 10 amp fuses.
