Yes, there are a number of things, as mentioned, that may need attention.
I'd use NGK Iridium-IX or if you want a cheaper plug the NGK G-Power platinum. Both of these have smaller center electrodes. But I think plugs are low on the list causing your current problem.
Besides idle air valve and fuel filter, I'd also dump a can of
Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner into the tank and check for carbon build up and smooth operation of the
EGR valve. You may also have
vacuum leaks from hardened rubber gaskets/seals.
