wassup camry ppl =] im thinking about looking at this 2mrrow if its still available, wut you think might be the problem with the black smoke from exhaust? i doubt it needs a new engine.

Black smoke is unburnt fuel. Could be as simple as a good tuneup or as far as worn rings causing misfiring.

It seems like the guy knows exactly whats wrong, so maybe you could pressure him into telling the truth.

I personally wouldn't pay more than 700ish for it.

white smoke is coolant
blue smoke is oil
black is fuel

go there check it out and offer him less with cash in hand.

you could always get another 3vz and drop it in but hell it might just need a tune up

wasnt worth. interior all messed up. cluster didnt work. has a small oil leak too. lol

negociate with him to lower the price, u show him the amount of money that u got to convince him. Take a look at his valve cover gaskets, power steering pump, and rack and pinion as they love to leak notoriously on those engines (3VZ-FE). Otherwise if not, go find urself a nice 5 speed camry thats worth fixing.
