Does anyone here got a Camry, Solara or ES300 posssibly using cable or shifter base bushings from this company? I heard it's really good and want to use it for my 92 5 speed ES300 with the 3VZ-FE v6 and E53 (not E153). Maybe u guys may find it unusual modding a Lexus ES300 but I really like my car. My cable bushings are so worn and want to know if u are using the normal version kit or toyota big version kit? Opinions and comments are welcome, and would appreciate help. Heres the websites below:
it gives a very gated shift and it also makes it very easy to misshift, but you are a lot more "in touch" with the shifting
Isn't that a bit of a contradiction? If it feels very gated, how can you mis-shift?

I say the same as I did on the 1st post. So what cable bushing kit did u use on ur Cam Eye8Pussies, normal or big version? Since u have the E153 it may be different...
we use the big versions (basically, one of the bushings is frigging huge compared to the small ones)
as for the misnomer about feeling gated and easy misshifts...it's because if you don't get it perfectly into the gate, you'll grind. with the bushings, it gives lots of lee-way and it will just kind of slide into the gear.
and cody- if you can, I would recommend it. But it's more of a personal preference. personally, I can't stand driving a stock camry 5-speed (thanks to karam for letting me try his car before he trashed it)

i've got a question. will the bushings take the slop out of my ES' shifter?
Yes and no. It will feel 'tighter', but (for lack of a better descrption/name of part) if that little square/rectangular bit of metal between the two linkages has worn due to age, that will also cause freeplay in the shift lever.
So Eye8Pussies, do you know what causes that clash if you don't shift it into the gate exactly? This already happens on my Camry with the stock bushes, me and my uncle(who taught me how to drive) are the only ones who can drive it without clashing when downshifting into 2nd. If i were to do this, would it make things worse? there is some sideways freeplay in my shifer. Would that be part of the reason?
Edit: I've read on another Toyota forum that you can easily 'make' these yourself. All you need are skate bearings that can be picked up from surf/skate shops, including the clothing ones. They usually sell single bearings or a pack of 8. I'm trying to go this way but i can't get those damn stock shifter bushings off. Have a nice gash on my hand from the screwdriver slipping off too xD Any help? They're not pushing off easily.

Alternative: Roller blade bearings. Just find the right size. Cost me only $4.

Well another ES owner here, I thought I was the only one here...
Anyone got pics of the items installed? That would also help...
Click on the link in the first post then download the installation instructions in PDF. Has plenty of pics in that.

90 seconds of quality hot action will get the job done.
Buurin is just there to watch the fun.

Lol, i thought you were joking until i saw the picture. How 'bout 5 secs with the oxy torch? haha
Won't that melt the dust boot on the shift cable? Looking for a non-destructive way to get them off (with it still in the bay), but that is starting to look bleak.
