4th Generation 2001 Camry V6

I have a 2001 Camry with the V6(1MZ-FE). Does my car have a timing belt or does it use a chain? If you look to the left side of the engine, I think there was 2 belts there, a smaller one and a bigger one, but someone also told me that ifyou open up the head of the engine then there is a chain in there that turns the camshafts? im confused, help because I need to change the belts really soon.

1998-2002 3.0L V6 (1MZFE) uses a timing belt, T257, according to Gates. The two drive belts (accessory belts) are power steering and alternator/AC.

I'd recommend getting a complete package, $700-800 at dealer. You can use aftermarket parts or OEM with your favorite mechanic.

Here is an old list from rockauto.com:
GATES TCK257 timing component kit $89.79
(timing belt plus two pulleys)
FEL-PRO TCS45890 crank seal $6.27
FEL-PRO TCS45889 cam seal set $8.55
GATES K060410 Alt/AC belt $13.09
GATES K040345 PS belt $8.61
ASCO/AISIN Part # 1610029085 water pump $61.79
Total ~$188 + shipping

If needed: FEL-PRO VS50471R valve cover set (with spark plug tube
seals) $30.79
