carpet behind driver's seat soaked

After driving in through heavy rains with the A/C on for almost 7 hours, we arrived at our destination and parked our 2001 Camry LE (41K) for a week. Upon returning I noticed that in addition to a small wet spot on the driver's mat by the gas pedal, the carpet and mat behind the driver's seat was soaked. We don't think a bottle of water opened by mistake. Could this be related to the A/C? If so, how could it get so wet in the rear seat area? What's going on here, and how can I fix it? Is it more likely there is a hole in the body or chassis? There is no visible rust on this car so I don't know why there would be a hole. Any ideas? Thanks!

If it's just water then check for blocked AC drain. But I would think the passenger side would get wet on this one. (???)

lol, I have the same issue... hasn't appeared for a while, thought it was rain coming through the rubbers in the door seals and somehow the wind pressure is forcing it into that particular area.

Check to see if the back seats are wet too...

2008 Camry - I too found after several heavy rains, and some AC use, lots of water under the carpet. Most in the rear. Now all moldy. What's the best way to dry? Dealer won't do anything for me, even though I have Platinum Extended Care. They said the AC drain was clogged.

Already smelling. What is best to get water, a vacuum carpet cleaner? What will work to stop & remove the mold?
