Parts needed for timing belt job

I found a local mechanic and would like to obtain all the parts I need for a complete timing belt service myself to save money.

The car has 148,500 miles on it and has never gotten the belt changed. It's leaking a lot of oil from what I suppose is the oil seal and the rest of the seals in this area.

The exterior belts (alternator, power steering) look new, so those can stay.

That being said, what parts do I need to do a full service so that I'm good for another 60k miles?

Thanks guys.

aside from the various oil seals (crank, cam, oil pump) all you need is the timing belt, tensioner spring, pulley and i also suggest a water pump since it runs off the timing belt. is the dog bone engine mount still in one piece? that will have to be removed when replacing the TB. oh hey, since its always recomended to replace the water pump during the timing belt install, you may consider changing the thermostat since some of the coolent will have to be drained.

another common oil leak on teh 2.2 is the valve cover gasket. maybe check that over and have that done as well.

^+1 ghettosled pretty much nailed it. If you have oil leakage, from under the timing belt cover, I would add a oil pump o-ring gasket to the list. I compiled a list of parts that I used when I changed my timing belt on this link:

DIY: GEN3 Timing Belt + Waterpump + Oil Seal Change - Part 1

If you are willing to use aftermarket parts, Rick's engine parts had a really good price on a timing belt kit which includes belt, water pump, ider, tensioner and three oil seals. I have been running with these parts for a year now with no problems.

Here is my version from while back:

(www.rockauto.com prices for 3/5SFE)
GATES TCK199 (kit of timing belt with two pulleys and instruction)
$84.79
GATES Part # K030295 PS belt $4.32
GATES Part # K050435 Alt/AC $12.12
FEL-PRO TCS45641 Cam seal $4.11
FEL-PRO TCS45920 Crank seal $6.04
BCA Part # 221820 Oil pump seal $2.71
AISIN (Toyota #16110-79185) water pump $58.79
FEL-PRO VS50304R valve cover gasket set $13.94

I think you should also consider doing the valve stem seals (~$40) while at it (your timing belt and valve cover is off anyway). Get a FelPro set. Older Toyotas used a cheap rubber on the intake and caused some blue smoke startup problems. Also consider NGK Iridium-IX plugs.
