3rd Generation Fuel Problem on 92 XLE 5SFE

i was driving to the movies and my car cut off .thinking maybe it was gas since gas light came on i added about half a tank worth but the car still did not start. i tried some starting fuel and it worked. so i let the car rest for after about 5-10mins and the car started as if nothing happend so i kept driving and it cut off again after about 10 mins of driving. since it did not want to start again i decided to park it since i had no money for a tow truck.
The following day i went back to my car and it started up with no problem. so i drove it back with my friend following me just incase she didnt make it. right when i got there it didnt want to start up again. very weird. so i pulled out my hanes manual thinkin maybe its the fuel pump dying out. i opened the diagonostic connecter cover and jumped FP and +B to see if the fuel pump would work and it did but before jumping it the pump did not make any noise as if it worked. so then i tried the EFI relay in the fuse box near the intake and when i touched it, it was hot. i dont know if thats normal but i thought it was weird. anyways i took it out and tested like the manual said and ended up wit continuity on pin 1 and 3 and non on 2 and 4.
so now the problem i have is find the curcuit open relay i think but i cant seem to find it. maybe they didnt make it for my 92 camry but theres suppose to be 3 relays on the fire wall toward the passanger side but theres not one there.
does anyone have any idea on what the problem is???
o by the way the car started again after i tested the fuel pump and EFI relay. seems like after the car cools down it starts up.

Maybe your fuel pump is drawing more current than it should. Maybe put an ammeter on there and see if it's drawing more than 50% of the fuse rating. (I don't know the nominal running current).

Some thoughts:
- plugged fuel filter
when was the last time you changed it?

- old fuel pump
how much current is it drawing?

- gas cap not venting vacuum properly
loosen it. Does the car start?

i changed the gas cap.
i dont see how the fuel filter could stop current flow to the fuel pump.
i guess the only thing left is to change the fuel pump even though it works when the car cools down. ???
