the set u just bought is a straight pipe.
take off the original set
bolt the new one on the block and bolt the rest of the exhaust on
the cat as far i remember is connected to the same pipping as the headers.
so congrates, now you don't have a cat.
its the same thing with mine motor.
i want to buy this set but i live in cali and the emissions are to pass...
so yea... good luck

is it at all possible to just use the header without the exhaust pipe? i want to try but I don't want to have to take it all apart and put it back together for nothing.
Mine is 2.5 inch strait from the down pipe no CAT...i hope no one that could do something see this. ya its fairly loud....i havnt been around any other wild cars but i know mine is pretty loud around here. personally i will let everyone know when i switch to manual with a sick clutch and a few other upgrades to let you know how it performs. its not hard to install either if you have a lil knowledge, i had a shop do the rest because they could mandrel bend, so they put my O2 sensor and everythings been working well for a while now
i installed them without the downpipe but only 2 bolts fit to the existing exhaust but i got the pipes to line up fine.... gonna use some exhaust sealer from a repair kit im gonna buy this weekend to put around the connection make sure it's not leaking.i would uset eh 2.5in downpipe that came with the headers but i wanna keep my cat and it's not going to make THAT much of a difference either way rather not spend money to have someone weld in a new cat and stuff, too much hassle.
