4th Generation reason headend might not fit?

I'm looking to buy a new headend for my '99 gen4.
One of the units on the short list is the KD-avx77 from JVC.
http://mobile.jvc.com/product.jsp?mo...hId=133&page=1
But, crutchfield doesn't recommend the unit for a '99 Camry 'doesn't fit'
From reading the specs on the unit, it seems like it should fit, any idea why they think it wouldn't?
It's chassis size code is E. (7-3/16'' x 2-1/16'' x 6-5/16")
According to the JVC site, the depth of the Camry's DIN slot is 7.75"

Any ideas? Are they just concerned with gaps around the edge?
