Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Looks like it may be the end for my camry unless a miracle happens. I think they might force to write it off, although it looks fixable. 86 year old drive decided to make a u-turn in front of me. Hit my brakes to avoid a collision. He stopped, and then gunned it and did it anyway. At that point, I had no room to stop so ended up hitting his rear tire. My front corner which hit got pushed straight back causing the damage. What sucks is my engine which is only a matter of months put in has somewhere between 40-50,000km on it. No way I could ever get anything close for what measily bit they'd give me. Just have to wait and see what happens monday and push for gettihg it fixed.
no reason it can't be, but will they decide to do it? It's mainly the fender and bumper as well as the lights of course. The inside buckled slighly enough to push the windshield bottle into the belt enough to score it and cause it to leak a bit. The main rail running through is unaffected. Just more shit and stress I don't need. I'm just worried they won't fix it and I'll get screwed becuase of it. Seriously, they look at these cars as only worth a couple thousand if they're in good shape. Nothing mechanical is wrong with it. it's all body.
Again!?!?!?, you have had some bad luck with that car lately. At least your still standing.
I know that intersection, its at Finch and Dufferin, you are facing North, the Saturn is facing South. There are some fucked up drivers there. Especially rush hour
It is fixable unless there is major frame damage.
Good Luck man

From looking at it, it missed the frame rail. It's hit the outside of the bumper and pushed straight back. I know it is fixable, but will they fix it becomes the issue?
From looking at it, it will need a new bumper, fender, depos, clear corners. The sheet metal in the top corner may be a bit buckled, but that's about it. Air bag didn't go off at all, and engine still runs like it should. I'll push to get it fixed but who knows? I just know I won't get anything close to what I have for the money they'll give me.

Take off the wing, and rims. If insurance finds out you have been modifying your car, they may not even cover it.
The wing is a dead givaway. Take it off before the insurance adjudicator sees its

Wow, sucks for you man... I really hope that they do decide to fix it! You have jut had a bad run of luck, isn't this the second time your car gets hit? On the plus side, you are fine and that is all that counts! And hey, you might get lucky with the car, just look at me!!! I had 3200$ worth of damage and my car got fixed! My only issue is that your car has front end damage and mine was strictly rear end cosmetic damage, so I don't know if they will be as sympathetic...

I am sorry to hear that happened to you. I used to be a body mechanic, and I would have to say that, yes that is all repairable. Its just the body. Maybe you can show the insurance company what engine work you have done to keep it running, they might be willing to fix it.

Yeah, got side swiped by a transport in Feb. Then they told me they'd only give me $2500 for it. I chose to get it fixed. Unfortunately the engine went and had to replace it, which is why I now have such a low mileage one. I'll definitely push to have it fixed. Why the hell should I lose my car and have to get someone's problem car because of someone making a u-turn right in front of me? I definitely want my car fixed.
looks fixable but it all depends on what the insurance company wants to do. you should have smashed his face into his windsheild...blamed it on the accidnet.
sorry to see man, glad no one was hurt...by accident anyways.
