Rewiring Hi-beams

So I noticed the other day that I when I flash my hi-beams that my low-beams come on too. I am wanting to know if it possible to re-wire the hi-beams or switch a relay that will allow only the hi-beams to come on when they are being flashed. Now I still want them to come one and work the way they do normally WHEN the headlights are on. Does any of this make sense to anyone?

thats the way thay work. you cant have you highs on unless the lows are on. i guess you could try something to do it your way but i see no need for it.

The reason behind wanting to do it is that its not good to flick the lows on and off when you have HIDs. The ballast dont like that and can cause premature failure of the ballast. I am just trying to avoid that.

I always have my lights on so never thoght of that. Well I guess u can try and isolate wires but I realy think its in the switch and that is a lot harded to change. I don't know anyone doing that so don't know how to derect u sorry. But anything is possible you just have to be willing to mess up a few times. Not getting it to work after 100 trys isn't failing. You just found 100 ways not to do it.lol. Good luck

HAHA! Nice way to look at it! I was thinking that maybe it would be a relay. One where power would only be moved to the hi-beam wires and not both sets of lights.
