Ford Taurus Face Lift

after doing the cheap depot lip install, i found out that you could use the lip off a ford taurus. Thanks to the ones who found that out, but i had some problems finding a good one in the junk yards but soon enough i finally found one from a random guy on the side of the road parting out his taurus. so i picked up the lip for 20$.

it had a slight crack on it, the bondo is drying as we speak.

but as for the real reason why i posted..i just need some questions answered

1) how did you guys actually mount this up? i plan on using screws, washers, and locking nuts..maybe through the current holes it has from the stock clips. and some 3m tape

2) its not exactly the perfect fit because of the under groove that is bolted on to the black plate that vents air out, i think. so how exactly did you guys position it?

and pics will be up soon

3rd Generation

I used 4 screws, took about 5 mins, and it looks like crap!

It holds nicely but I have to reposition it.

1. sounds prefect

2. it helps to have 2 people. easiest way is to eye it up then mark the holes for drilling. most get the back flush with the wheel wells. then center it.

I recently re-stalled mine on 96 with "Xmas Tree Clips" I did it with the bumper cover removed from the car, (Thanks to ASG14)

Their like the one's that attach the trunk liner, only bigger, bought them at NAPA! used 10 of them. Screws and washers should work fine tho.

To do it on the car, it would help if you detached the splash guards from the bumper, and use clamps to position the lip it where you want it before you drill. Align the corners at the wheel wells and attach those first.

Lifting the front of the car on Jacks Stands certainly would help too! GL, Post pics once ya get it finished!
