ok so my GF has a 93 camry 4cly auto and it has what seems to be an oil leak. it looks like its coming from where the oil filter screws on because its all around that and its all over under the car like on the oil pan and everything. has anyone had this problem before or knows what is causeing it like a bad seal or something?
Drain the oil, remove the filter, check the gasket... see if there's any marks. Replace the gasket onto a clean surface too though... get a small amount of oil and lightly grease the gasket/rubber and make sure it's not overtightened.
Had this problem once - my mate used a crap filter and thought that "the tighter, the better" with his new dan-dangle oil filter wrench was awesome and got over-enthusiastic with it.
Make sure it's on, make sure it won't come undone and make sure it's not too tight :P lol
Ill have to check that tomorrow I just noticed that it was really bad when we got home cause it was smoking from all the oil on the engine I personally didnt do the oil change she had a shop do it so it could be they didnt tighten it all the way or something, but it has done it before it just looks worse this time.
may have been a crappy filter ... 3/4 turn makes it tight enough (follow instructions above). don't drive it when loosing oil, if it's peeing she may have lost quite a lot already.
Does the car have an oil cooler? If the oil cooler gasket (like the gasket on an oil filter) has never been changed then it could be a possible source of your problem.

make sure on some occasions that the filter doesn't have two gaskets coming from between the block and the filter. This could be caused like everyone said an overtightened filter and the old gasket got stuck to the block. Then someone replaced it with a new oil filter on it so there's two gaskets.

Im not sure what it would look like if it did im not familiar with the camry. its got what looks like an adapter that has hoses comeing from it and then the filter screws onto that is that the lines for an oil cooler?

EXACTLY!
Mine leaks there too but I'm a lazy azz... I'll fix it during my next oil change.
i had this problem. i changed this whole thing (only because my old one didnt leak). what you need is the gasket off a oil filter, take that off and change it. bye bye leak.
