5sfe Swap to 1MZ or 1mz+VVT-I

what up guys thanks for droppin by my thread. lets cut to the chase. i hate my 4 banger and want a v6. after hours on this web sit (enjoyed my time not complaining) i said screw the 3mz more power but also more work and money. and dont want the 3v cuz well its old. so now it come down to this. i want the 1mz. i found one JDM for $750 with 58-62k miles on it. then i did a lil more digging and for $1700 i could get a 98 1mz WITH VVTI !!! the the best of my knowledge this is from a Lexus es300 or 350.... well its a 98 so 300. im doing this swap and planning to put on the e153 manual tranny on it too... if i can find it. anyway i have read here that it would be to hard to controll the vvti if i make it a manual. not to mention the already shit load of wiring i have to do with the ECU and wiring harness. so is it really worth it? i think the 1mz has 200hp and 210hp with the vvti. dont know about the torque. i just dont really wanna settle but what would be the best way to go. o and by the way IF I CAN EVER FIND ONE!!! i would put on the TRD supercharger or a supercharger that would work... i think trd4life is making one. if he decides to make them available for purchase i would buy it (shout out ). o and by the way this is being done to a 97 camry if you havent figured it out yet. any suggestions or comments?

P.S. i have already heard all about the its cheaper to buy the v6 car blah blah blah... im attached to my camry and i like bein different

well for one, for what your doin, it may be cheaper to find(if you can) a totaled 97-00 camry or solara and just use the front clip. but thats best case.

your best bet will be to use the gen2(ish) 1mz...NON vvti. vvti places restrictions and roadblocks that are harder to get around then the bump in power is worth IMO. plus vvt motors are more expensive. id look for a 97-00 1mz. it will be the simplest to work with for what ya want to do. no worries about manual swap and the TRD or TRD4life chargers will work with out any problems.

I think it's time somebody did some searching first, since this topic has been discussed to death.

do some research and come back with some specific technical questions and we'll be more than happy to help you
