3rd Generation Gen 3 Headlight Adjustment/replacement

HI GUYS

93 Camry V6 LH headlight vertical adjustment seems to be stripped and I need to lower the beam. Am going to pull off and try to shim - any advice. If this doesn't work will buy Depo lights but am concerned about fit as car was built in Japan and dealer p/n for headlight is different from US built cars, - again any advice.

Thanks

Ravenglass

Interesting - removed headlight assy. from car and then separated lens from carrier so as to get at beam adjustment mechanism. The beam up/down is by turning the vertical rod at the back of the assy. which is splined at the bottom and engages in a right angle plastic 'gearbox' . The 'gearbox' output turns a 'nut' which moves a threaded rod fore /aft which in turn terminates in a plastic ball joint on the back of the lens so as to tilt the lens/beam up/down when the adjustment is made. My problem was simply that the vertical rod had been pulled up and the splines were not engaged in the 'gearbox'( dealer?). Easy fix.
