3rd Generation transmission

i know there is probably a thread around here about this somewhere but it would take a long time to find. Im looking for a transmission that would hook up to the 5sfe a manual one btw that will withstand more power. Reason im asking is cuz a want to turbo charge the car before next summer and i know the stock trannys on the 5sfe arent very strong and i cant seem to get an lsd anywhere for it does anybody know of a stronger tranny for the 5sfe. Would it hook up with some modifications needed or simple plug and play ive heard the e153 is good but would that just hook up normally?

I would think the stock manual should hold, I mean the 5SFE Turbo wouldn't pack out more than 250 HP, and if anything probably something that equals the output of the V6, around 180 HP-200. It depends on how big you plan your power gains to be. I really have no experience with this, but Toyota trannys were usually over engineered then, and as you know, the Engine's stock components are able to hold a reasonable amount of power.

But, I think the E153 Transmissions would be hard to come by. But, I agree you probably want something you know will stand up to the power.

Well by next summer its just gonna be a regular turbo with around 8 psi thats so i can learn how to tune and save money for internals i know the tranny should hold up that power cuz its only gonna bring me to like u said around 250 with the mods i have already. I just thought i would get the transmission part out of the way already. i just rebuild my tranny cuz my lsd blew so hard the the pin went through my casing and i dont want that happening again i would be fine if i could get an lsd for it

LOL who makes a Limited slip diff for the s51??

Op the e153 will fit no prob as long as you have a hybrid clutch. The s51 actually should be able to with stand 200hp I believe, but you should do a search it never hurts to do that.
