4th Generation Rims on gen4

Hi guys, its time ive changed the tires and my dad got a quote for almost 700 bucks to get new tires on all of the wheels. So i thought why waste that much on putting new tires on ugly looking wheels and why not look for a second hand set of decent looking rims + tires for a decent price. I'm kind of new to this and could use all the info i can get. When looking through rims what sizes should i be looking for for this car and what difference does the offset make?
sorry for the newbiness and thanks in advance for any help

size is the diamete and width combination of a wheel.

offset is the spacing of the wheels- it'll determine if you rub inside (higher offset) or rub outside (lower offset)

17" are good for daily..
18" are good for daily and looks better.

wheels
17s or 18s depending on your preference
38-40mm positive offset without getting fancy (not to say you cant have more position offset, however, that range is ideal)
bolt pattern 5x114.3

tires
no wider than 225, 215 in my opinion
aspect ratio is preference too ... check here for that

look around for other peoples setups for more of an idea. theres a thread in the main camry forum dedicated to wheel fitment.

I'm definately all for getting the new rims/tires...but $700 for tires!!!!??? For a CAMRY?!!! The shop you went to must be out their g*d damn minds! i paid about $240 for all 4 tires shipped to my house couple months ago, they are the Yokohama Avid Touring-S
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes
(price without mounting/balancing, my brother is a mechanic at Toyota so i got that for free ) Mounting n balancing should be no more than $60-$80 depending where you go.

With tyres, you pay for what you get. I have Michelin Energy tyres on my car and they're worth $270 a tyre!

Tell ya what - they stick like shit to a blanket!

I'd go a nice set of 17s or 18s... 45 profile, 225s on a 40-45 offset. That'd do you fine.

14" Steelies all the way!! haha

Or you could go with some cheaper Sport Editions from tirerack.com. They have some decent looking ones that I wouldn't mind; as well as a decent price too.

if you live in a city like NYC, i'd say stay with 17s with a 45 Aspect Ratio. 18s might get bent up real easy. My friend had 18s on this Civic DD, he said had to change his tires like 3 tires and rims got all bent up, ended up getting 17s. If you live in a good town with decent roads i'll say 18s, but with offset its all up to you.

Just go to Tirerack.com

Shop, order, and install! You'll probably find, rims, tires, and lugs for not much more than $700!
