Question Change plugs on '98 V6

Hi all,

I'm hoping some one can tell me how to change the 2 spark plugs next to the firewall closest to the passenger. I think I can get to the one closest to the driver. I would like to avoid taking the throttle body off. I tried reaching the middle one with my hand while leaning from the driver side, but when I gripped the plug boot, my forearm would expand and get squeezed in all the brackets and hoses. Help! My next Camry will be a 4 banger!

thanks!

4th Generation

Well, it been a while since I posed, thats a good thing, I don't like working on my car or spending money on it. I spend more time on my wife's newer Saturn.

Anyway, I can't remember where I got the info for the plugs change but I found it. The recommendation was to use two shorter extensions to make the bend but I used a socket extension of the right length, took it slow so as to not cut my self or smash my knuckles and contorted my self to reach the reclusive plugs.

grats you found the info.

yeah, there are many ways to approach V6's rear bank plugs, but my favorite is to take 2 6'' extensions (1 of locking type) and a union joint (to make the bend). it also helps to have a solid spark plug socket ... mine unfortunately popped off the rubber insert on the spark plug #5 LOL ... gave me a moment of terror, but it was an easy fix after all.

reminds me that I need to finally glue that rubber insert to spark plug socket metal walls ...
