Question about my short ram intake

So I installed a short ram intake (link!) in my Avalon about 2 months ago and just recently I stayed up all night running a 4" dryer line from my fog light opening directly into the top of the filter. Since then the car has accelerated a lot faster but it doesn't shift as quickly and is throwing the CEL with a system to lean code (I'm guessing cause it threw it when i just installed it to).

Should I just separate the line from the filter and create an air box with the line attached, or forget the line all together? I'm guessing the forced amount of air when the throttle opens is making things funky or am I wrong??

Throwing 1,000 watts of rattle in your trunk does not mean you have a "system".

The lean code? wtf? maybe the v6 is different but on the i4 amount of extra air should not make enough difference to throw a code.

The V6 has a mass airflow sensor, I don't think the i4 does.

my 97 v6 did somthing similar, worked perfect with a sri but when i added a section to create a cai, it bearly ran. i wouldnt drive like that though. that better acceleration is a result of the lean condition and not the cooler air. a cai makes little differance on the 1mz when its NA anyways.
