3rd Generation Alternator or Battery Prob on 92 Camry 6 cyl

Hi I really need some honest advice. I had initially thought my battery was kaput since it was nearing 5 years of service So i replaced it at sears. But a few days later the car did not start so i managed to drive to the local mechanic he said i needed a new alternator so i did and no problems. I rarely dive the car anywhere on to the train station but it was working for a good 2 weeks then I broke my leg. THe car and i were out of action for 4 weeks I went to start it and no juice no alarm nothing called AAA they started it and said since i didn't use it in a month to keep it running in driveway for an Hour. I noticed 45 min in that the car is off and same problem no juice. I get a tow to same local mechanic who says it my battery first. upon further inspection just replaces my alternator but he charges me Labor again. Also tells me since My battery has been drained so much it may be shot and just get a new one form Sears. that was on Friday. Today I got to start car and nothing again I get a jump from my dad's truck and drive to sears to replace my battery. Now they tell me my battery is good even show me a machine that says "battery good" they charge it again. then another sears mech shows me that my alternator reads at 12.85 volts while the car is running. say my alternator is bad. I just got it. I aware most alternators from anywhere are remanufactured these days. but two in a row that are bad??. can this be? or is sears just washing their hands off it. My Camry is up there in age ~150k 3VZFE, japanese vin number

BTW, I just moved back to Nassau County in NY by eisenhower Park anyone from the area know a good mechanic or service shop .

thank you in advance

i think your battery and alternator are fine, though i would double check your connections to make sure they are secure.

sounds like something is pulling a charge from the battery when the car isnt running. do you have an aftermarket amplifier, car stereo or something else? though i dont know what caused your car to die while idling.
