softer stiffer ride?

First off let me start by saying that i have been doing my research in the archives and useing the search bar to try to find this pacific topic and so far i have found related topics but nothin that im looking for.
Now dat thats out the way yes as my title is saying i am trying to make my car have a soft ride but i want it to be stiff. appearently some gen 3-4 camrys have the bottoming out problem. along with tha TSB for the rear bearings. (i just read something about that correct me if im wrong.) mine is one of them. i have a 97 camry LE i4. in the near future i am going to do a non vvti 1mz/5 speed swap. i started thinking i might as well spend some money so im far from stock. so i wanna know what would be the best option for a more sportier feel but it is still my dd so i would want it to be comfertable but, im an aggresive driver so cornering and tight turning is a basic fact. so with coilovers i have found D2, JIC, & Monroe's that will fit i dont know about these because i want a soft ride especially if i have passengers. i know about the TRD springs tha might get rid of the bottoming out problem but i still wanna upgrade and dropped is something i plan on going for. anybody have any suggestions?

Go with coilovers. We have JIC, Tein SS, Ksport as options. The Teins are good and I personally don't think they're too stiff for coilovers, although you can adjust the settings. If you haven't already, make sure you get the TRD rear sway bar and front strut bar. As far as springs/strut setups go, I have Eibach/KYB (1.2" drop all around) and only bottom out when fully loaded or under very hard cornering over bumps. Keep in mind I have aftermarket wheels/tires though.

I'd suggest getting the Tein SS over the JIC Magic. The coilovers will replace the springs/struts. Here's the link to Tein's site (check very bottom where it says Super Street):

As for wheels, I'd say get either 17" or 18" max. Good and decently priced performance tires would be the Kumho Ecsta SPT's. I have those right now and I'm happy with them.

coilovers are not gonna be soft...even the softest ones i wouldnt consider soft by any means...just less stiff(and i like a stiff ride). a good set of springs and struts will cost less, likely last longer and can have that soft stiff ride. what will help ALOT with cornering is makin sure you have upgraded RSB and FSB. also upgradign your bushings to urethane bushings makes a differance.

however, if your seriously plannin to do a V6 swap then COs would be better since you could run them on either. springs and struts are made with a certain engine in mind.

as far as the v6 swap its already bein shipped. dependin on ma next check im eitha goin ta get the sub frame, motor/tranny mounts, wireing harness and ecu. then ill get the manual tranny. i found one from a v6 camry so i can get the pedals from that. and to be honest i have kinda been leaning more twards coilovers because i like bein different and around new mexico aint alot... ok no unstock sporty camrys out here. with the coil overs can i take off the springs and put on TRD lowering springs. but since im most likely goin with the tien SS's is it really neccissary?
